ReflectionI built the EdTech 9 website to aid in communicating with teachers and administration for all their technology needs. Specifically there are three sections in which I provide my colleagues with digital tools; Teachers EdTech, Students EdTech, and TechKNOWLEDGY. The first two sections list and describe web 2.0 tools to support teachers in their instruction and digital-age education for students. The final section is a simple form that teachers or administration can fill out to ask for further technology integration support or any questions they may have relating to technology.

ReflectionThis artifact demonstrates my contribution to the development of a shared vision for technology integration at PS 9. It demonstrates how the schools Technology Plan has grown over the past three years that I have been working there. This plan was a collaborative effort by the Technology Team consisting of administration, technology integration specialist, general education teacher, special education teacher, librarian, and parent.

ReflectionThe October Technology Team mintues demonstrates evidence of a shared technology vision for PS9. The topics discussed are funding strategies, current grants we obtained and how best to use them, as well as how better to advocate current and future Donors Choose projects. Having a team to make these decisions aids in our vision for the school. Including a parent on the team has added to our efforts in fundraising and grant writing to obtain more technology for the school.

ReflectionPart of being a technology coach is keeping up with current and new technologies as well as networking with other technology colleagues. Taking on the position of Specialty Point of Contact (SPOC) for technology at PS9 I have become an active member of both Google Education Group for the DOE and the Facebook DOE Tech group. Taking part in both of these groups allows me to check in fequently with emerging technologies within New York City. It allows for me to communicate with colleagues in similar positions to identify common needs across the city. Discussing what is needed in schools across the city enables me to better manage and change the technology process in my building. Also, the SPOC position required administration to allot time in my teaching schedule to implement and manage technology within the building.
